What sets NOFI Current Buster® technology apart from other high-speed sweep systems is the built-in separator. The system is designed to separate the contained oil from the water and retain it within the closed separator. This process results in a thicker layer of oil, which in turn offers greater advantages when pumping the collected oil aboard vessels or into storage tanks. As a result, the vessel’s storage tanks are filled with oil and not water, significantly increasing the overall oil collection efficiency.

The NOFI Current Buster® 4 is currently used by pollution control agencies around the world and has been used in numerous spills, where it has demonstrated its capabilities on numerous occasions. Years of experience and lessons learned from global oil spills have been taken into account when developing the next generation of NOFI Current Buster® 4.
The new NOFI Current Buster® 4 performs better in high swell conditions and also maintains a larger coverage area per hour thanks to a wider front sweep opening.
The system is available on a hydraulically powered reel or as a custom storage system, in a 10-foot container.
When used in conjunction with the BoomVane system, the NOFI Current Buster® 4 is ideal for single vessel operations and is prepared for the NorMar IPS 3 integrated pumping system.
