Large capacity oil skimmer for the recovery of oil offshore

The Markleen MultiSkimmer MS 60 is a large capacity oil recovery skimmer for use offshore.

The MS60 recovers oil slicks from the surface of the ocean using a rotating module, which as for the whole range of Markleen MultiSkimmers, is oleophilic and hydrophobic, with the oil recovered containing less than 2% water as demonstrated by independent laboratory tests. The MS60 MultiSkimmer can be used with up to 3 different easily interchangeable modules, made of brushes, discs or a smooth drum, to cover a wide range of possible oil viscosities.

As for the Markleen MultiSkimmers MS30, the MS60 features an on-board lobe pump to transfer the oil recovered by the skimmer to an intermediate storage tank. Optionally, the MS 60 can be equipped with hydraulic thrusters to aid positioning of the skimmer in the oil spill.
