Construction in ports and dredging

For construction work in ports and harbours, and other dredging operations, Markleen manufactures silt curtains (or turbidity curtains) to contain materials in suspension and prevent them from polluting nearby areas.

This product consists of a floatation element (often a solid containment boom) and a skirt made of geotextile material of a depth which will depend on the distance it is installed from the dredging work and the depth of the water at that point.

Remember that there should always be a gap between the bottom of the silt curtain and the sea bed, and that the curtain is most effective when used in calm waters. Markleen supplies a wide range of silt curtains to construction companies throughout the world
