Single point inflatable oceanic boom
The ECOMARINE series of booms features two independent air circuits for redundancy and has bulkheads that divide the continuous float into 5-metre chambers, ensuring a fully operational boom even if one of the circuits fails. The boom design also features a secondary back-up air system that is used to refill the boom chamber if necessary, allowing the ECOMARINE boom to be deployed for extended periods of time, even in adverse conditions.
The ECOMARINE boom is the most advanced offshore containment system on the market. The boom expands instantly during deployment, thanks to the spiral-shaped hoses that fill with high-pressure air as soon as the boom comes off the reel. The ECOMARINE boom inflation system minimises deployment and recovery times as well as personnel requirements.

Specifications
The fabric used to manufacture ECOMARINE booms is highly resistant to oil, chemicals, all weather conditions and ultraviolet light. This fabric is both strong and lightweight, resulting in high quality, very flexible booms with excellent wave following characteristics. All seams are high frequency welded, maintaining the excellent mechanical properties of the system.

Deployment, retrieval and storage
ECOMARINE booms are designed to be stored and operated using an ECOREEL with a turntable and integrated air supply system to automatically inflate the boom as it is deployed. The coiled hoses are pressurised while the boom is still on the reel and during deployment they expand the float as the boom exits the reel, making it fully operational when it reaches the water. The only operating and storage space required on deck is the ECOREEL’s own footprint.
Remote control operation
The ECOMARINE boom system works best with the remote control of the ECOREEL, from any position on board the vessel. A single operator can control the inflation, deployment and recovery of the boom with a complete overview of all movements.
One of the main advantages of this system is that it allows the boom to be deployed in adverse conditions without the need for the crew or other personnel to be in direct contact with the equipment.
